1. A photocopy of the vehicle's license, or To Whom IT May Concern Letter issued by Vehicles and Drivers' Licensing Dept stating the descriptions of the lost or stolen car.
2. Sale deed ( if any ).
3. A photocopy of the complainant's passport.
4. A letter in which the complainant states the reasons of search application.
5. Complaint should be filed by the car's owner or an authorized person.
6. Owner of the car should be a resident of the area of jurisdiction of the police station where he lodged the complaint.
Procedures:
1. Applications are accepted during 24 hours.
2. Application along with all attachments should be submitted to the head of the police station.
3. Head of the police station makes sure all attachments are complete, including details of the car and reasons of the application.
4. Application is then approved by the head of police station after being approved by CID.
5. A copy of the car search report will be provided to the complainant on the next day upon request.
If the car is found, the owner will be notified.
Stop search for a lost or stolen vehicle.
1. Complaint can be filed by the owner of the vehicle or an authorized person.
Procedures:
1. Ensuring that the complainant is the owner of the lost or stolen vehicle.
2. Application should be submitted to the concerned police station which notifies CID to cancel the search for the vehicle.
3. A copy of the cancellation of search will be provided to the complainant upon.
Issuing of To Whom it May Concern Certificates for all kinds of complaints.
1. A letter from the complainant.
2. A photocopy of the complainant's passport.
3. Payment of AED 50 as fees.
Procedures:
1. Checking all documents.
2. Making sure the applicant has completed all required procedures.
3. Certificate is then issued and handed to the applicant.
Reporting a breach of trust, fraud, and forgery cases by staff.
Procedures:
1. Taking all documents needed to file a complaint.
2. Checking all documents.
3. Writing down the statement of the complainant.
4. Search for the accused.
5. Follow up: the file of the case will then be referred to the Wanted Persons Investigation Dept for tracking and arresting the accused in coordination with the complainant.
Filing a complaint against unknown persons.
Motorists who are involved in car accidents in which divers of the vehicles causing the accident flee the accident scene should follow the following procedures:
1. They should stop their vehicle and make sure vehicle hadn't been previously involved in a car accident.
2. Checking all sides of their cars for any accident that might occur while they were stopped.
3. Motorists have to note the difference between car accident, and damage accident ( causing deliberate damage to vehicle by unknown persons ). The difference between the two is as follows: A. Car accident usually involves two or more cars resulting in certain damage which can be scratches or any other damage. A car accident may also occur while car is parked. B. Damage accident is a deliberate damage caused by unknown perpetrators. It can be by smashing the vehicle's glass or causing any damage to the body of the vehicle by means of a sharp object. The latter is considered to be a criminal case since perpetrator intends to cause harm to the owner of the vehicle.
4. In case of witnessing any damage on the vehicle, the owner should make sure that damages were caused at the same place where the vehicle was parked. He should also try to tell the exact time of the accident and report it immediately.
5. Accident scene should never be tampered with; everything should be kept as it is, including pieces of damaged glass or vehicle paint ( if any ) until police arrive.
6. Police should be contacted and informed of the exact place of the accident.
7. Complainant should follow instructions of the officer who assumes car accident sketching.
Issuing of Police Clearance Certificate
For both UAE nationals & Expats:
Conditions:
1. Applicants' residence visa should be issued from Sharjah, and should be 6 months old.
2. Applicants shouldn't have criminal history.
3. Fingerprints taking.
Documents required:
1. Passport photocopy with residence visa page (for expats).
2. A photocopy of UAE ID.
3. 1 recent photo.
4. AED 52 as fees.
Procedures:
1. Designated application form should be submitted to Criminal Evidences Section After filling in all needed information.
2. Application is then checked to make sure all information and conditions are correct and authentic, before fixing delivery time.
3. Payment of fees, and receiving the receipt.
4. Fingerprints taking, however, in case applicant had his fingerprints taken before, there will be no need for this procedure.
Issuing of Police Clearance Certificate for persons residing outside UAE and having previous residence visas.
Procedures and Conditions:
1. Applicant should head to the nearest police station in the country where he stays to have his decimal fingerprints taken.
2. Heading to UAE embassy or consulate in the particular country in order to have decimal fingerprints attested. He should provide a passport photocopy with the previous residence visa, and one photo.
3. Applicant can choose between two ways:
A. Submitting the application form along with fees to UAE embassy or consulate which will contact UAE Ministry of Interior\ General Directorate of Criminal Security to issue the required certificate as per foreseen procedures. Certificate after that will be returned to Ministry of Interior and then to the applicant.
B. Sending the application by post to any of his relatives or acquaintances in UAE for handing over to Ministry of Interior\ General Directorate of Criminal Security. After issuance, the certificate will be returned to Ministry of Interior for attestation and then sent back by post to the applicant.
Issuing of a police report for a lost passport.
UAE nationals:
1. A letter in which the applicant states the details of the loss.
2. A Photocopy of the lost passport (if any ).
3. In case the person who lost the passport is below the legal age, father or mother should be present.
Procedures:
1. Heading to the reception counter at CID – Investigation Section – Investigation Branch.
2. Filling in designated application form.
3. Heading to Naturalization and Residency Dept.
4. Coming back to CID after 15 days.
5. Payment of AED 50 as fees.
6. Report will then be delivered within 1 hour.
Issuing of a police report for lost properties.
Lost properties include: Personal belongings, Clearance Certificate, Health Card, Cash, Corporeal Properties, ID and important documents belonging to firms inside and outside UAE.

1. A letter bearing the stamp of the company.
2. A photocopy of firm's card.
3. A photocopy of Trade License.
Documents required for properties lost outside UAE:
1. A letter from the concerned person.
2. Passport photocopy.
Procedures:
1. Checking all documents.
2. Report will be delivered to Investigation Section upon payment of AED 50 as fees. Report is issued within 2 days.
Issuing of a police report for a lost police\ military card inside UAE.
Documents required:
1. A Letter from the concerned person in which place and time of loss are stated.
2. Photocopies of passport, lost card or any document showing the concerned person's military rank.
Procedures:
1. Checking all documents.
2. Payment of AED 50 as fees.
3. Report will be delivered after one day.
Issuing of a police report for a lost labor card.
Persons under sponsorship of a company or firm:
Documents required:
1. A letter printed in Arabic bearing the stamp of the company or firm.
2. A photocopy of Trade License.
3. A photocopy of the concerned person's passport along with stating place, and date of the loss in addition to the number of the lost card.
Persons under individual sponsorship:
Documents required:
1. A letter from the sponsor.
2. A photocopy of sponsor's passport.
3. A photocopy of the concerned person's passport.
NB:
It should be remembered that number of lost card should be stated in the letter whether by the sponsor or concerned person.
Procedures:
1. Checking all documents, and delivering the report in the same day upon payment of AED 50 as fees.
Issuing of a police report for a lost driving license, vehicle license or number plates.
Documents required:
1. In case driving license, vehicle license or number plates have been issued from sharjah or any other emirate, concerned person or firm are required to provide a letter and passport photocopy.
Procedures:
1. Checking all documents.
2. Report will be delivered in the same day upon payment of AED 20 as fees.
